LOUISIANA RACING MEASURE Bill Introduced in Legislature for Racing Commission and Mutuels MutuelsBATON BATON ROUGE La May D Louisianas racing bill by which racing in this state will be controlled was introduced five minutes after the legislature convened yesterday yesterdayIt It is by Fred C Claiborne of Pointe Coupe and requires that all racing associations shall be bona fide that they shall be under directors living in the State of Louisiana that the parimutuel betting will be followed and that the racing commission shall have absolute power The terms of the racing commissioners are placed at four years and they are to be named within sixty days after the passage of the act The act also gives to the commission the right to install pari mutuel machines or to bar them themUnder Under the terms of the act a high license can be charged and the money must be paid to various charitable institutions of the state Many believe that the bill wont survive and that the opponents of racing will introduce a stronger measure to kill racing entirely
