BREEDER OF DEVASTATION IS A LEXINGTON WOMAN LEXINGTON, Ky., July 26. Mrs. Fayette Johnson of this city is the breeder of the good horse Devastation, instead of A. B. Hancock, as has been generally supposed. The error is due to the fact that Mrs. Johnsons mare, Treeless, was booked to A. B. Hancocks stallion, Wrack, on shares, and the result of that mating was Devastation, which later, at weaning time, was purchased by Mr. Hancock and registered in his name. Mrs. Johnson was unfortunate in losing the dam of Devastation last spring, while foaling to Last Coin. However, the foal is living and is a splendid colt, which is being fained by Miss Elizabeth Daingerlield on the same farm where Man o War is stationed.
