Won driving: second and third the same. MENDER set the early pace and. being headed while rounding the last turn, responded gamely to hard riding near the end and oulfinished TROPICAL WATER. The latter dwelt slightly at the start and moved up rapidly on the stretch turn into the lead, but tired when called on for a tinal effort. CHIEF ARCHEE was shuttled back on the stretch turn, but came fast through the stretch and finished gamely. BLACK RULER raced in the deepest going throughout. POLYCHKESTY and FRIDAY 13TH raced green. Won easily; second and third driving. FLYING DEVIL raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the final eighth, then took the lead and won going away. HILL-HOUSE rushed into the lead and saved ground on the turns, but rai-ed in the softest going throughout mid tired badly tn the stretch. AL STEBLER closed a gap gamely and was gaining fast at the end. LESLIE began poorly, was ridden wide on all the turns and was never a serious contender, but can beat such opponents when fit. DELHI MAID raced on the inside for the entire race and finished fast. BOND closed a gap with a belated rush through the stretch. KING TROJAN was in close quarters on the backstretch and crowded back, but finished resolutely. KEZIAH quit after going well for three-quarters. AISTRAL was badly outrun.
