LUX began sluggishly but was quickly rushed into the lead and crossed over sharply, causing a jam, then drew away and made a game finish, but was disqualified for fouling. BUTTERCUP escaped interference and, racing in closest pursuit, finished gamely and wearing the leader down. FLICKER was knocked hack ihortly after the start, made a rush after entering 1 he stretch, but tired finally. WRINKLES had no mishaps. SUNSPRITE quit. GRASSHOPPER was forced back at the start.
