April ]C— The eondi-tions of the Billy Barton Steeplechase to be run at Pimlico on Wednesday, May 9, 1928, were announced as follows : For hunters ] 1 2 holding certificates from the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, and four- ] year-olds and over that have started in a 4 steeplechase over a timber course in 1926, • 1927 or 1928. Purse ,500, of which 00 to 6 the second, 00 to the third and 00 to the fourth. The owner of the winner to receive a piece of gold plate to the value of 00. Weights : Four-year-olds to carry 152 pounds ; five-year-olds to carry 160 pounds ; six-year-s olds and over to carry 165 pounds. Winners 1 1 of two races or of ,000 in 1927-1928 to carry ! five pounds additional ; non-winners in 1927 or 192S allowed three pounds ; maidens al- ! lowed five pounds ; no allowance for riders. All entries to be subject to the approval of the committee. To be ridden by gentlemen riders, subject to the approval of the com-and mittee ; to be run Wednesday, May 9.
