PARADISE LOST PROMISING Trainer May Tells History of ofWildair Wildair Paradise Filly Even EvenDozen Dozen in the Stable NEW YORK N Y April 1 Bub May who recently returned from a holiday in southern Louisiana and took over the Mendham Stable horses which wintered at Belmont Park is enthusiastic over a two yearold filly Paradise Lost which he has in his care and training steadily This filly pointed out May is aptly named and one with a series of early handicaps to overcome which rarely befalls a foal foalParadise Paradise Lost is by Wildair Paradise and was bred and foaled at H P Whitneys Lex ¬ ington Ky breeding farm Shortly after foaling the dam died and the youngster was bottle fed She was the pet of everyone on the farm and never lacked for attention especially at meal times Word reached the farm that Near By a common work mare which had foaled lost her foal due to an accident The daughter of Wildair Paradise was given over to the mare to nurse The two immediately formed an attachment for each other The thoroughbred miss began to thrive and develop steadily She developed into an upstanding miss and attracted the attention of her present owner R H Wil ¬ liams when he was on a tour of inspection in the Blue Grass district The filly proved an easy one to break and is friendly to everyone who visits the barn barnMay May has an even dozen horses in his charge headed by the filly Lace This miss thrived during the winter and is in good condition Bird Catcher a threeyearold has been nominated for the Kentucky Derby and the Fairmount Derby He has shown May enough to enter him for the races Beyond that claims May his real quality is problematical
