EPOCH raced true on the inside and, suited by the going, responded to urging in the final eighth and, wearing down the leaders, drew away at the end. NIGHT EDITION, on the outside of the stalls, showed good speed and held on well to outlast PERMISSION. The latter, a factor throughout, challenged gamely in the last eighth, but tired in the final strides. ROCKTOR. outrun early, finished resolutely under urging. BRANDON PRINCE, quick to start, showed an even performance. WHISKING moved up when called upon, but was blocked an eighth out. OUT GUESS showed a flash of early speed. TURKISH GOLD was outrun. Won easily ; second and third the same. CHENANGO, under restraint until nearing the twelfth fence, moved up stoutly, came between the leaders and, shaking off PROWLER, drew away thereafter. The latter, under restraint until the final turn of the field, moved up fast on the outside and challenged gamely nearing the last fence, but tired at the end. VALOROUS was taken back under restraint going to the first turn, but could not improve his position thereafter. INDIGO ran well in spots, but lost his rider at the sixteenth obstacle. SEMAPHORE was hustled up fast after the start, forced the early pace and held on well. TOWEE, quick to begin, swerved over sharply to the inside in the final eighth. LANDWARD finished well. SMOOTH KNIGHT forced the pace from the start and held on well to the end. MARTINELLI. under urging in the stretch, wore down BLUE TILE in the last seventy yards. The latter showed early speed, saved ground, but had no mishaps. MANCHONOCK had no excuses. LILLIE D. tired after racing forwardly for three-quarters. The others had no mishaps.
