FOREIGNERS BEGIN STUD DUTY One French and One English Horse HorseNow Now Standing in Kentucky Both Four Year Olds LEXINGTON Ky July 18 Among lha young thoroughbred stallions that were em ¬ barked on stud careers on Kentucky horse farms this year are two newcomers from abroad abroadOne One Castel Fusano is owned by Joseph E Widener of Philadelphia who maintains his Kentucky stud at Elmendorf Farm near here and the other is Shifting Sands II owned by Fred B Koontz of Tulsa Okla who breeds and raises race horses at Mili ¬ tary Stock Farm in Bourbon County CountyCastel Castel Fusano a son of Ksar Red Flame by Vermilion Pencil was bred by E F EdmondBlanc of France but raced in Mr Wideners colors as a member of his French racing stable He won several stakes stakesShifting Shifting Sands II was bred in England by J S Courtauld and was purchased by Mr Koontz last year after he had won the Barn well Maiden Stakes He is a son of Fairway the sire of this years English Derby win ¬ ner Blue Peter Shifting Sands II is the only son of Fairway standing in America His dam Panic produced seven winners of which five are stakes winners winnersBoth Both Castel Fusano and Shifting Sands if are fouryearolds
