MEW POLICY AT CONEJO RANCH RANCHThough Though Conejo Ranch for some years past was in the business of boarding with both breeding stock and trackweary gallopers being accommodated the enlargement of their own horse interests so taxed the estab ¬ lishment that it was decided last fall to adopt a policy of devoting the ranch to their own stock As a result only a dozen horses owned by outside interests are now on the place and these are the property of personal friends of the Jansses Its more fun and less worry explained Ed EdRecently Recently Ed bought a number of year ¬ lings from Neil S McCarthy and traded two brood mares and some cash to Walter Hoff ¬ man Jr of Rancho Casitas for several other yearlings This is to round out the growing stock at Conejo ConejoD D O Paden familiarly known as Dee is the Conejo superintendent He was elevat ¬ ed to the post some time ago and Is reputed ¬ ly one of the most studious farm managers in the state burning the midnight oil in his avid desire to read and absorb all the stand ¬ ard reference works having to do with breeding and raising of the blood horse
