Government Wants Mules MulesFORT FORT WORTH Texas June 1 Thor ¬ oughbred breeders have been urged by the United States government not to discard their fillies who do not race to expecta ¬ tions or fail when bred to thoroughbred stallions The breeders are urged to send this type filly to a jack as high class a jack as possible From this mating should develop a smooth shorthaired mule colt These colts after breaking are worth from 180 to 300 as threeyearolds depending on size substance and disposition the lat ¬ ter being one of the happy features almost certain to derive from a thoroughbred mare Several Texas breeders already are following this program and the mule crop in 1944 and thereafter should be a large one according to reports
