Favor Off Track Betting BettingNEW NEW YORK N Y April 29 The March Kings County Grand Jury Brooklyn in a presentment handed up today recom ¬ mended that betting on liorses should be legalized away from the tracks as well as at them In its official report to Judge Nathan R Sobel the grand jury pointed out that the state collected its tax on more than 2000000 wagered at the Jamaica track on the opening day of the current season and stressed that if a tax were im ¬ posed on bets made away from the track the revenue could be applied to financing such municipal items as subways
