Brother of Previous Derby Winner Never Has Won Race RaceCHURCHILL CHURCHILL DOWNS Louisville Ky May 3 Until an injury in a race last month in New York forced his withdrawal from tomorrows seventysecond Derby Count Speed one of last seasons better twoyearolds held it within his power to establish a second Derby record for his owner and breeder Mrs John Hertz of Kentucky and New York YorkIf If Count Speed could have avoided his injury and proven fast enough to lead the Derby field home it would have been the first time that a brother of a previous Derby winner ever had won the race Count Speed is a brother to Count Fleet who won the Derby in Mrs Hertz silks in 1943 and both are sons of Reigh Count winner of the 1928 Derby for Mrs Hertz Mrs Hertz already has the distinction of being the only owner to start a horse in more than one running of the Derby with ¬ out seeing her colors defeated
