Nominate Total of 516 For 10 Suffolk Stakes StakesMaine Maine Chance Farm W G Helis Leading Nominators for Features FeaturesBOSTON BOSTON Mass May 10 A total of 516 thoroughbreds have been nominated for 10 stake races including the 50000 Massa ¬ chusetts Handicap that will be run during the Suffolk Downs summer meeting from May 27 through July 6 it was announced ioday Major nominators were Maine Chance Farm of Mrs Elizabeth N Graham and William G Helis the latter a member of the fourman syndicate that purchased control of the track at auction on May 1 for 3600000 Mrs Graham named 26 horses in her Maine Chance stable for eight Suffolk stakes while Helis nominated 35 to run in 10 stakes stakesFirst First Fiddle winner of the Massachusetts in 1944 and 1945 was the first thorough ¬ bred named for the race this year for Mrs Edward Mulrenan The race is to be run July 4 Another named was Assault winner of the Kentucky Derby last week Seven Derby starters Lord Boswell Knockdown Perfect Bahram Rippey Pel ¬ licle Marine Victory and Kendor were named for the 25000 Yankee Handicap to be run June 8 8A A total of 220 were named for the tracks twoyearold Stakes including 93 for the 25000 Mayflower that will be run July 6
