Sprinkler System Puts Out Blaze at Hawthorne Track TrackHAWTHORNE HAWTHORNE Cicero 111 May 18 A serious fire was averted here this morning at 245 A M when the automatic sprinkler system snuffed out a blaze in a dressing room for women employes in the rear of the grandstand An alert watchman noted water from the sprinklers seeping through the doors and found the entire room smoldering smolderingBy By this time the automatic signal system had sounded an alarm and the entire fire department of the track with Charles Bid will managing director of Hawthorne at the helm carried out the cleaning up phases phasesBidwill Bidwill just recently added some new fire equipment at this plant
