Jackson Inspects New Atlantic City Course CourseGoes Goes Over Fireproof Stables That Are Under Construction ConstructionATLANTIC ATLANTIC CITY N J May 18 John D Jackson general manager of Arlington and Washington Parks visited Atlantic City yesterday to look into some of the details of the construction at the new rac ¬ ing plant here hereHe He came particularly to see the fire ¬ proof stables the first in the country which are nearing competition and are expected to become a model for those built by other tracks in the future futureThe The stalls are of cinder block construc ¬ tion with roofing of specially treated sheet metal metalJackson Jackson and Thomas J Lyons comp ¬ troller for the Atlantic City Racing Asso ¬ ciation who is directing the operations here spent an hour at the track where the former made a number of pictures to take back to Chicago with him himThese These stalls are fine Jackson said and I am certain that many of the tracks will copy Atlantic City in future con ¬ structions The stable area is very well planned and should prove very attractive to the horsemen and as to the knowledge that they need have no worries about fire is very important to them themJohnson Johnson was impressed with the natural setting of the entire track area and pre ¬ dicted that In about two or three years when the landscaping has a chance to take hold the Atlantic City track will be one of the most beautiful in the entire country countryHe He plans to return here some time after the opening of the inaugural meeting July 22 as he is anxious to see the sprink ¬ ler system another innovation in operation
