SOME EASTERN TWOYEAR TWOFER OLDS OLDSThe Oldster The weather has been so mild and open lately that horses at the eastern tracks have been given an unusual amount of exercise for so early in the year The result is that they are measur measure ¬ ably advancing in training and many of the smart 2yearolds have been allowed to give glimpses of their speed Concerning some of this age the turf correspondent Kelston Keelson beginning with W C Dalys Days says saysThis spastics This famous horseman has engaged Fied Field Berlew Belle to train and is sending his lot along with a view to having them ready for Bennings Jennings There are several smartish smarts 2yearolds in the string Rusher a chestnut colt by Magnetizer out of Rushlight Rushing dam of Swamp Angel is very fast He worked a quarter over the Brooklyn track on Tuesday morning in 23 seconds which is something extraordinary for this season of the year yearThe earthen The Keene string in charge of Tom Greene were all out and did trotting and cantering exercise All the 2yearolds are coming on nicely while the St Leonards Leonard Dart Maiden colt and the Meddler Anoma Anima colt struck me the latter in particular as having improved greatly in the last six weeks weeksThib Weeks Thib Thai latter is quite a classy looking young ¬ ster steer and has perfect action The St Leonards Leonard Dart Maiden colt is lengthy and well fur ¬ nished noshed with good bone and shows a great deal of quality I will be disappointed if he does not prove a bit out of the common Another St Leonards Leonard colt that I think highly of is the chestnut out of the Mortemer Mortimer mare Vanduora Andorra in Albert Coopers string and owned jointly by Foxhall Focally Keene and J G Follansbee Flans He has not quite the scope and range of the Dart Maiden colt in James R Kecnes Kennels string but he is a nicely patterned beautifully balanced youngster and is undoubtedly very speedy speedyThis speedy This colt fetched only a few hundred dollars when sold as a yearling and his owners hare only recently refused an offer of 10000 for him With the elder Mr Keene offering 15000 for the Hindoo Indoor Bonnie Gal colt also a Castleton Carleton bred one it seems a pity he did not train all these promising 2yearolds instead of selling them as all in one string they would have been away above the average averageIn averaging In addition to the above there are two Cas Casa ¬ tleton Lepton bred ones in the Sensation Stable lot that are very good lookers They are Ocean Prince by Hyderabad Hydra Ocean Queen and Magic Prince by Tournament Cinderella by Hermit And in J E Seagrams Seagram string the St Leonards Leonard Citron elle belle colt is highly thought of by the veteran trainer Charles Boyle while still another is a chestnut colt out of Paradox in T Parretts Parents string which I saw breeze a quarter on Tues ¬ day morning through the stretch at Brighton This is a lengthy racy looking colt with a long roach and very fast as indeed are all of the get of St Leonards Leonard
