Harding was ridden a waiting race, came away when called on in the homestretch and won going away. Red Robe appeared high in flesh and ran a good race considering his condition. Hopedale was made too much use of in the first seven furlongs and had nothing left when the pinch came. Tioga showed early speed. Drummond does not seem to be anywhere near her best form. Jerry showed improvement, but tired in the last sixteenth when challenged. Lou Rey was pocketed the greater part of the journey. Blackmore quit after showing speed for a mile. Midlo acted badly at the post, wheeled when the barrier went up and was practically left. Scratched — 10123 Magnetic, 101; 40049 Jelsi, 90. Nellie Bawn, show, 8 to 5. Malay, show, 1 to 2. Colonel Anderson wore down Easter Boy while rounding the far turn, raced him into subjection and won under pressure from Snare. The latter made up a lot of ground at the turn into the homestretch, but tired after getting up to the leader. June Collins had to fight it out with John Drake for third place. Not Wisely was poorly ridden. Argonauta displayed but scant speed and was never a serious contender. Scratched — 40199 Mandamus, 104. Colonel Anderson, show, 1 to 2. Snare, show, out.
