Florence X., away fast and showing good form, ran into the lead after going a quarter and, holding on gamely, outstayed La Souer in the closing drive. The latter put up a good performance and Avas gaining at the end. Georgia Girl, much the best, was away in a tangle and had to go Avlde most of the way, closed a big gap and would have won at a longer distance. Ansonia tired after going a half and had no mishaps. Do Reszke broke slowly and failed to get fully settled in his stride until after going a half, then came fast through the stretch and won drawing away. Lucy Young showed the most early speed, but tired in the final furlong as if short. Dr. McCIuer, from a slow beginning, came fast in the last quarter after saving much ground when turning into the. stretch. Dapple Gold came from a long way back in the stretch, and finished gamely. Conville forced a stiff pace from the start and, favored by being in the best going, wore down Frank Lord in the final furlong and won going away. Frank Lord broke fast and showed the most speed for the first half, but tired in the stretch drive from being in the worst going. Coiumunipaw was shullled back in the first quarter and closed up some ground in the stretch. Coltness appeared to have been crowded soon after the start, causing him to fall.
