A bet in advance of the races on several horses with a price laid is a combination, and formerly, when combination betting was in vogue, would have been play or pay, even losing by a scratch of one of the horses. The present practice is to give the bettor a run for his money. Unless there was a definite understanding that it was a combination and not a parlay, the better way would be to treat it as the latter, in which case it would simply be a draw, no show prices being laid. This matter was dealt with in a previous reply to the bettor, where the circumstances were not clearly understood.
