CANADIAN MERRYGOROUND FABLES These new race tracks and halfmile merrygo rounds scattered throughout Ontario by the space killers are all imaginary No person has been try ¬ ing to buy Dufferin Park for tle purposes of run ¬ ning a race meeting nor has any such project had any existence except in the newspapers There will be no race meeting at any halfmile track in Hamilton other than the meetings usually held there The London stories of a new mile track seem to have no more substantial foundation than the other airy dreams The London Free Press lias been imposed on with several stories al out the affair thisThat One of them last week was this That the running horse people of Canada are interesting themselves in the establishing of a mile track here for the bangtails to be erected and fitted in time for next summer is again evidenced by lie fact that William Hanrahan secretary of the association track in Windsor and one of the big men in horse racing in Canada has been In the city looking over the ground with A II Brener and other local men who are interested interestedMr Mr Hanrahan went over the ground thoroughly with Mr Brener and seemed to consider the propo ¬ sition with more than ordinary seriousness although just what his views were after investigating thor ¬ oughly have not been made public and probably will not be until preliminary work has been gone into more fully fullyMr Mr Hanraban assured the Toronto Globe last Saturday that he did not know Mr Bvener and had never seen him Mr Hanrahan sakh I am not thinking of building even a cinder path let alone a mile track I have not been in London In more than a year So far as I am concerned the whole thing is a pure invention and I have so written to the editor of Tlie Free Press
