BOOMING THE LATONIA MEETING Treasurer Hachmeister and Secretary Maginn Put In Busy Day at Louisville LouisvilleLouisville Louisville Ky iMarcli 10 Racing Secretary Ed Magiuii and SecretaryTreasurer John Hachmeister of the Latonia Jockey Club spent Tuesday here in the interest of the coming meeting to be given at the Kcnton County track Secretary Magiuu visited the stables at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park and distributed entry blanks for the eight stakes to be run during the coming meeting and which are to close on St Iatracks Day March 17 17Mr Mr Maginn secured the promise of many entries from the horsemen at the two tracks and both he anil Mr Hachmeister predict a successful season of port at Latouia this year The overnight purses will be worth from 00 to 500 each and will lie framed to suit horses in training Mr Hachmeister tpeiit the day inspecting with Colonel Matt J WInn interesting himself with the uiutuel betting improve ¬ ments the manager of the New Louisville Jockey Club has in view for the coming spring meeting here Mr Hachmeister said saidWe We want any thing new and up to date in this line as we purpose to test out this system of betting fully at our coming meeting and desire to make this style of betting popular with the Cincinnati racing public We fulled so with the uiutuel system there when jt was used before that we feel sure the situ ¬ ation now calls for an innovation in this line and we want tho l est machines with every adjunct that will give the liettors confidence As far as good rac ¬ ing goen I believe we will serve np the best sport Hie coming summer fen in Latouia in years as the Increase we have made in the added money of otir stakes and purses will hold the better class of horses In Kentucky until the meeting is over
