GOSSIP FROM THE BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington, Ky., August 23. —John Markleiu. whose license as a trainer was revoked u|Hin recommendation of the judges at the Lexington spring meeting became of W. A. Leachs reversal of form, will make formal apnlieation for reinstatement at tho Keutucky State Racing Commission meeting tomorrow. Mr. Markleiu came here today and engaged former County Judge Frank A. Bullock to present his rase. Action in the Bedwell re-hearing is to be taken by the commission tomorrow. Secretary Garret D. Wilson of the Kentucky As- ■« iation is in receipt of a letter today from Mars Cassidy formally accepting the position of starrer at the local fall meeting beginning September 19. Cassidy will also do the starting at Louisville and Latonia. Roland Drake, who liought and raced a few thoroughbreds last spring, will return to the sulky September 1 as trainer for Senator Joseph W. Bailey of Texas, who will open his stable at Lexington ou that date.
