SOL G1LS£Y, away well and running well in the going, followed the leaders close up and. taking the lead on the last turn, stood a hard drive and otitgamed CHEER LEADER in the final drive. CHEER LEADER dropped back slightly soon after the start and made -resolute challenge on the stretch turn, but could not quite get up. WALTER H. PEARCE was squeezed back at the start and ran a good race. TRUSTY lost much ground by racing wide. QUIN tired in the last eighth. Scratched -20367:Troiliis. Ill: Dreadnaught. 114. BUZZ wits away forwardly and, showing high speed, passed M. BERT THURMAN in the first three-eighths and outstayed SOSIUS in the final drive. SOSIUS raced well up all the way and had no mishaps. BILLY JOE began slowly and had to come wide on the stretch turn, then tired near the end. M. BERT THURMAN set the early pace and ran well for a half mile. FATHOM was gaining at the end. HOT TODDY suffered from interference and was always outrun. JUVENILE tired The winner was entered for 00; no bid. BLIND BAGGAGE raced in closest pursuit from the start and was going fast at the end and wearing the winner down slowly. LEO SKOLNY had to go wide where the going was softest and ran a game race. FLEURO closed a gap and raced fairly well. GIPSEY GEORGE quit. DR. LARRICK was always outrun. Scratched — 26366 Prince Hermis, 112; 259860 tliello, 105. OLD KOENIG, under good riding, rushed into the lead at once and set a good pace, but tired and had to be hard ridden in the stretch to outstay ELLISON. The latter gained steadily and finished gamely. COLONEL VENNIE dropped back in the first half and closed an immense gap in the last quarter. KING GORIN raced in closest early pursuit and tired in the last quarter. TRANSIT raced into the lead on the backstretch and tired, but outstayed JESSIE LOUISE The latter and BROOKS raced well to the stretch turn.
