KIRTLE was hard ridden throughout and made a game finish for second place. AVISPA saved ground on the last turn, but tired in the last eighth and just lasted to hold third place. CLIXCHFIELD was outpaced, but finished gamely. CASTAXET was on the outside all the way under a poor ride and ran a better race than the chart shows. The winner, entered for SI. 500, was bid up to ,505 and bought in. AVon easily; second and third driving. CARE FREE quickly passed HARD GUESS in the backstretch and. taking a good lead, was never menaced and Avon going away. HARD GUESS, away forwardly. raced in nearest pursuit of the winner throughout, but was easily held safe. FLUFF ran well and, finishing gamely, always held the others safe. IRISH DREAM was in close quarters on the inside and met with repeated interference, but finished fast and gamely when clear. SEDGEFIELD was hard ridden throughout and had no mishaps. PICXIC displayed excellent speed, but tired after racing irto a clear lead in the stretch. HEPHAISTOS saved ground on the last turn and finished gamely. CHESTERBROOK was forced extremely wide when entering the stretch and lost considerable ground, but closed a big gap in the last eighth and finished fastest of all. TIXG-A-LIXG was a prominent contender all the way and outstayed DARK HILL in the final drive. The latter took the lead on the backstretch. but tired when forced to a drive. AVYXXEWOOD was hard ridden and ran a good race. FIRST PULLET showed speed from the start, but was in close quarters through the stretch. EPISODE and SMARTY finished well. AVAR PEXXAXT pulled up lame.
