GOLDEN CORN ENGLANDS IS21 BEST LOXDOX. England, October 5. While Marshall Field of Chicago is in America his grand filly Golden Corn improves and carries all before her. She is universally classed as the best of the year. Her win of the Rous Memorial Stakes at Xcwmarket was a mere canter and she accounted for the Middle Park Plate just as easily. This is the Epsom Derby "line" in English racing tradition. The paddock critics at Xcwmarket went into ecstacies over Golden Corn. She appeared to have improved even since Doucaster. One enthusiast described her as looking like a four-year-old, and lie was not wide of the mark. Except in color she is strongly reminiscent of Pretty Polly and has a similarly free, easy action, while she possesses a most amiable temper, for nothing upsets her. Tho Rous Memorial Stakes was no test of her merits, as there was nothing to get her out of a canter. Golden Corn is not in the 1922 Derby, but has nominations in the One Thousand Guineas and the Oaks.
