AURORA TURF NOTES Jockey Glen Horn narrowly averted seri i ous injury Saturday morning when Miss j Cog which he had taken on the track to gallop became frightened reared up and i fell back violently Horn attempted to t throw himself clear of the filly when she was falling but she came down on his right i 1 leg bruising his right knee painfully The I injured member failed to yield to treatment so Horn was forced to cancel his engage ments Saturday but expects to be able to resume riding Monday j jApprentice Apprentice Martin Fallon had the first mount of his career when he rode Pretty Susan in the second race Fallon is under contract to Mrs R J Murphy MurphyP P O Anderson who is training the horses of L F Anderson left for Louisville Friday j night to attend the Derby He will return here Monday MondayFrancis Francis Polk who is under contract to Mrs E B Shipp will do all the apprentice riding for that establishment in lieu of jockey Pedro Martinez who became a full fledged rider recently j Frederico Graf ton who is serving as clerk of the course and auditor at Aurora will leave for Narragansett about June 1 to act in the same capacity at that track j Buster B Supero and Montaris were ad ditions to starter Buddy Wingfielda schooling list Mrs Frank T Miller wife of the out ¬ rider at Aurora underwent an operation for appendicitis a few days ago and is doing nicely Mrs Miller is convalescing at St Josephs Hospital Aurora 111 111Apprentice Apprentice Glen Jorgenson who is under contract to E E Sterrett rode the first winner of his career when he brought In ¬ dian Lore to the line of finish in advance of his rivals in the seventh race Friday The presence of Jorgenson in the saddle was one of the principal factors why the horse paid 13434 for the usual 2 investment investmentAnson Anson Parke 57 years old father of for ¬ mer jockeys Ivan Burley Monte and Vasco Parke died at his home at Declo Idaho Friday Mr Parke failed to rally from a sickness which he contracted last week and while his condition was not considered seri ¬ ous the demise came unexpectedly There are three other children Charles Ruby Delia and his wife surviving the deceased Interment will be at Declo Monday MondayJockey Jockey Louis Machado is an arrival from Dallas Texas and filed an application for a license Machado will ride free lance until he decides on which of the several offers he has under consideration before affiliat ¬ ing with any stable stableWilliam William Owen former custodian of the jockeys quarters at Aurora and other Chi ¬ cago tracks is an arrival from the East and was distributing the condition and stake books for the impending Narragansett meet ¬ ing which is scheduled to open June 19 for a session which will run through July 6
