THE PHENOMENAL ORNAMENT By far the best of the western crop of two yearolds earls is Ornament the big chestnut son of Order and Victorine Victorian the daughter of Onondagas whose 1892 produce Whyota Whoa was also a speed marvel Order is eight years old by Bend Or out of Angelica by Galopin Galloping Bred by the Duke of Westminster Order was imported by Mr Headley Headily of the Beannont Beaumont Stud four years ago Ornament is of a second crop of Orders The colt is engaged in the Futurity estimated at this time at 60000 in value and which is run at Sheepshead Shepherd Bay August 15 Mr M F Dwyer is trying to buy Ornament but the pricejlnamed percolated by C T Patterson is too high for the Eastern turfman Truman Ornament has performed four times this season His last was yesterday on Oakleys Oakes slow track with 121 pounds up which he won in a gallop from Roy Carruthers Corrupters a fair colt himself the five furlongs in 1 05 05May May 2 at Lexington with 118 pounds up he won the Breeders Futurity five furlongs in 1 02S easily beating a fair lot lotApril Lothario April 28 at Lexington with 110 pounds up he won the Melbourne Stakes 5 furlongs in l03Vi from Treopia Tropical Dunois Dubois and four others othersApril others April 24 at Memphis Ornaments dobut debut was made in a maiden twoyearold toehold race and he won the onehalf Neal mile in 50 from a bad lot He got off a bad last and ran around his field Nothing has been able so far to live with the handsome Order colt Ho is not the best of actors but has improved as ho has performed and on racing in public is far and away the best that has appeared so far
