SIMMONS WINS A FAST RACE A severe storm broke over Forsyth Forsythia after the fourth race yesterday and what had been a fast track was converted into a sea of mud The racing was good throughout and the attend ¬ ance Vance large Mrs Murray in the twoyearold toehold race and Revenue in the last half of the mile selling were the only favorites to win With the exception of King Henry In the opening event who was at 30 to 1 all the other winners were well backed backedEachel backdate Eachel Rachel McAllister Canister was the choice in the first race Julie and Billy B raced in front to the stretch when both had had enough King Henry who had been lying third went to the front and managed to last long enough to beat Fakir by half a length the favorite was third thirdIn third In the 2yearold race Mrs Murray was played hard Adrienne made the running followed by Brescia Brecciate and Lottie Loftier Wimmer Swimmer Adrienne gave it up in the stretch and Mrs Murray coming to the front at the stand won by half a length with Brescia Brecciate Lottie Loftier Wimmer Swimmer and Pop Dixon short heads apart apartUnity apparently Unity opened favorite in the first half of the mile selling but at the post Pert and Doctor G were both better choices Pert was in second place to the half where he went to the front and staying there to the end beat Doctor G who had been villainously ridden by a head Unity was third close up upThere pothered There were a lot of speedy ones in the fourth race at three quarters of a mile and Weola Ebola was the choice Rubberneck rushed to the front directly after the start and led nearly all the way followed by Simmons and Full Measure Half way down the stretch Murphy brought up Simmons and won with something to spare by half a length Rubberneck beating Full Measure the same distance for the place Weola Ebola was never dangerous dangerousIn dangerous In spite of the rain and her known dislike for the mud Nellie H was made favorite for the fifth race Barguard Argued led all the way and won by half a length from Alto Juno with Dr Parko Park a good third Nellie H was last lastIn lasting In the last half of the mile race the public would not be stalled off Revenue though it was given out he did not like the mud He was in front nearly the whole of the route but Eloroy Helotry nearly nipped him at the finish being beaten only by a short head headNew headmen New stables keep arriving at the Indiana tracks White Clarke came in yesterday with the old red horse Tim Murphy Commis Commies ¬ sion scion Whitestono Whitest Morven Moreno and others Atkins Watkins Lottridge Outride with seven horses including Scarboro Scarborough Quantrell Quarrel Belle Boyd and others will bo here today Bob Davenports stable will also come shortly with it is Joe Harveys Harvey Wheel of For ¬ tune Charlie Hughes with some of the Avon dale Stable including Ida Pickwick Picklock and the Ohio Stable will bo here today He has sent for stalls for eighteen horses horsesBismarck horses Bismarck owned by the Liberty Stable who fell in the fifth race on Thursday is more badly hurt than was thought He was kicked on the back when on the ground and it is feared his hisspine hissing spine is affected affectedThere affected There is a splendid card offered by Forsyth Forsythia today In addition to the mile and a half han ¬ dicap dicta in which Redskin 118 Sunny 102 and Elusive 94 are entered there is a six and a half furlongs race for 3yearolds in which Rondo Kamsin Amassing Rewarder Rewarded and others meet a hurdle handicap and a good 2yearold race raceThe racketed The Sheffield programme programmed for the first eight days is out It is well arranged and liberal From 2lnK to 2200 will be given in purses each day no purse being less than 300 There are six handicaps and purses jf 500 and several of 400 Th re will also probably be some special events
