SUNNY REVIVES AND WINS The wet weather and the likelihood of a heavy track caused numerous scratchings scratching at Lakeside yesterday but the rain did not dampen the ardor of tho thou crowd and the attendance was up to Saturdays average averageBackers average Backers had the best of it as three out and out favorites won and in the third race The Kitten and Rapier were equally well fancied fanciedThe fancied The principal event of the day was a handi hand ¬ cap at seven and a half furlongs It was robbed of its interest by the scratching of Assignee lu gomar omar Simmons and Sunny and only four went to the post Doctor G and Nikita Ikuta were the favorites They got off at the first attempt Doctor G being bumped into Dockstader Dockside and Nikita Ikuta raced together in front all the way to the head of the stand where Dockstader Dockside drew away and won handily Doctor G was last lastIn lasting In tho thou milo and a sixteenth race Redskin was the favorite but tho thou weight proved too much for the old horse Sunny went out to the front at once and made a runaway race of it Redskin keeping within striking distance for half a mile From this the threeyearold drew right away and won in a gallop with Langdon London second Sunnys Sunny popularity has not waned at Lakeside and his victory was cheered cheeredA cheered A dozen very moderate ones went to the post iu the first race and Mary L was a mild favor ¬ ite bite Off fourth she led all the way and just managed to beat out Ida Wagner WagnerSutton Wagner Sutton was scratched in the twoyearold toehold race and Siegfried Sigrid was the choice Doctor Harris led for a quarter of a mile then Siegfried Sigrid and Brown Girl went to the front In the stretch they were joined by Miss Paine and a driving finish took place Siegfried Sigrid getting home first with Brown Girl s cond condo condIn condign In the third race there was nothing to chooes echoes in the betting between The Kitten and Rapier Ethelleah Ethel and The Kitten made the running the latter winning easily at the end while Ethelleah Ethel just beat Ropier for the place placeIngomar placing Ingomar Kingdom was the selected one in the last race with Simmons next in demand Off third In ¬ gomar omar weut wet to the front and he and Jennie June ran together to the stretch where Ingomar Kingdom came away and won at his leisure John Hickoy Hickory who was last to the head of the stretch came fast at the finish and got third place placeMural placental Mural a threeyearold filly described as being by Darebin Darwin Mura Maura was entered in the last race This filly is an outlaw having raced at St Asaph Asap and the judges refused to allow her to start Her owner said he had bought her from a party who claimed she was not the outlawed Mural If she is not then her pedigree must be
