GOOD RACING AT HARLEM B J Johnstons Johnston game son of Tenny Teeny and Mamie Mammies B David Tenny Teeny with Master Woods up won a pretty race at Harlem yesterday He was in with Donna Bita Biota at a mile and beat that con ¬ sistent sixteenth fllly by a neck in 1 40 His victory was greatly due to the handling he received Woods trailed in behind Donna Bita Biota and Lady Calla han to the half There Lady Callahan went wide a bit and quick as a fiaih fairish Woods shot David Teany Teeny in between her and Donna Bita Biota By so doing he eaved heaved a piece of ground It was needed for Tony Licalzis Localism filly hung on gamely and it was only after a long hard drive that Tenny Teeny won Donna Bita Biota faltered down the stretch but came in a sharp cleancut cleanouts vray ray when Clay shook his whip at her herB B J Johnston scored again with Candle black in the second race His colt was favorite but owing to the heavy play on Ed Gartland Garland II and Dave Waldo Weald his price went back from 4 to 5 to 6 to 5 Caywood Cawed was on the colts back and he rode one of his real good races He was off in front but laid aw y to avoid the keen and early pace In the stretch Ed Gartland Garland II Dan Honigs Honing good thing seemed to be winning but Candleblack Candlewick wore him down in the final six ¬ teenth tenth and under Caywoods Cawed powerful finiih finish won by a scant length lengthThe length The prettiest finish of the afternoon came out of the last race a five and onehalf Neal furlong dash for twoyearolds toeholds Plantain on the strength of repeated good work in which he i reported to have outworked Traverser Traverse throequarters treasurers in 1 1B1 was the medium of a plunge He opened at 4 to I but was quickly backed down to 8 to 5 but at post time receded to 2 to 1 The colt ran a good race as far as he went but went to pieces when the final pinch came At the eighth pole the field was well bunched but in the last twen wen ¬ ty yards the contest narrowed down to a battle between Frances McClelland Macmillan Chauncey Chancery Fisher and Mary Kinsella Knell The former owing to Clays strong finish won by a nose with the other two so close together that only the judges could separate them themThe tether The other winners Carnero Caner Farley Fairly and Why ota won their races as they pleased pleasedJ pleased J B Bespass Bespeaks is having bad luck Ho has lost that good filly Clara Van and now Elusive who was cherry ripe is very sick and not expected to live liveJockey livestock Jockey Warren the doctors say is out of daneei Dane
