ST LOUISS LOUIS 1898 STAKES In this issue of DAILY EACING ACING FOEM OEM will be found the conditions of seventeen stake races to be decided this year over the fine track of the St Louis Fair Association and also of the St Louis Derby of 1899 These events entries to which close January 15 are well apportioned among the different ages and conditions of race horses and are so liberal in terms that they will doubtless secure large entry lists and be pro ¬ ductive educative of the best quality of racing racingThe racing The events for 2yearolds are eight in number The Debutante four and onehalf Neal furlongs 1500 is for fillies as is also the Isabella five and onehalf Neal furlongs 1200 The Kindergar Kindergarten ¬ ten five furlongs 1500 and the Ozark six fur ¬ longs 1500 are for colts and geldings while the Junior Championship fife and onehalf Neal fur ¬ longs 2000 The Brewers Handicap six fur ¬ longs 1500 Missouri six furlongs 1500 and the Chrysanthemum one mile 1500 are for all sexes sexesThe seethe The Memorial Handicap five and onehalf Neal furlpngs furlongs 1500 is for sprinters of all ages The Golden Eod Oed seven furlongs 1500 is for 3year lds lads that have never won a stake of 1500 while for the 3yearold and upward division there are the Club Members Handicap one and onequar conquer ¬ ter tear miles 2500 the Mississippi Valley selling one mile 1500 the Meramec Mermen selling one mile 1500 the Laurel Handicap six furlongs 1500 the Independence Handicap one and threesix threes ¬ teenths tenths 1500 and the Mound City Stakes sol ling one and oneeighth neigh miles 1500 The Derby is so well known among the valuable 3yearold fixtures of the western turf that it is only necessary to state that its terms are 25 each entry or only 10 if declared January 1 1899 with 100 additional for starters 3500 added one and nohalf nodal miles These rich stakes are comn comm emended to the earnest attention of wester Webster horse owners
