GOSSIP OF THE TUKF TURK TUKFOf Stuff Of Imps race at Gravesend Graves Monday the Morn ¬ ing King Telegraph says A Hanover a Salvator Salvatore or a Tammany could scarcely have attracted more attention than did the western filly Imp at Gravesend Graves yester ester ¬ day Imp is the equine heroine of the season She has had a clean sweep in the west and that she was brought on east to start in the Suburban naturally added to her importance in the eyes of the racing public publicImp public Imp was one of the starters in the mile and a furlong handicap She had an advantage in the weights at 108 pounds but opposed to her were such prominent Suburban candidates as Havoc and Dr Catlett Cattle and even though this pair were asked to carry crushing imposts 126 pounds on Havoc and 124 pounds on Dr Catlett Cattle it was not generally believed that the speedy daughter of Wagner and Fondling would be able to go the route in such company companyImp company Imp however galloped along in front in the easiest sort of fashion the entire journey and won easily by a length and a half from Havoc in l55i about as good time for the distance as was ever made over the course Her rider Spencer did not have to call on her at any stage of the journey and he finished through the lust furlong looking back over his shoulder at Havoc on the one side and Knight of the Garter on the other The fractions were 131 26 38J 1 03 116 1 284 1 4U and 1 551 The last mile was run in 1 42 The track record for the distance is 1 54i made by Clifford
