BANNOCKBURNS BANNOCK GOOD WORK WORKBannockburn Bannockburn Bannock will start for St Louis this morning and land there tonight He will run in the Derby at the Fair Grounds tomorrow Lieutenant McGuigan Michigan gave him a Derby trial yesterday morning and the move was so satis satins vctory victory that the trip to St Louis was promptly ranged With 108 pounds up and the stable boy Weaver in the saddle the colt worked a mile and a half in 240 Two horses were run at him in the first mile and a quarter which was run in 2121 After the second horse pulled up Bannockburn Bannock galloped another quarter in 271 Speaking of the work and prospective racing of the colt Lieutenant McGuigan Michigan said He broke at the seveneighth evening post and pulled up at the three eighths Ho was tired when he pulled up but cooled out so nicely that I made up my mind to ship him The stake down there will be worth about 7000 to the winner the second wil wail gets 1000 the third 500 and the fourth will save his stake Now I dont don't expect Bannock ¬ burn to be so good as he will a week from next Saturday if nothing goes wrong with him but with only 102 pounds to carry he will be good enough to try for some part of that money He will have to carry 122 pounds in the Ameri America ¬ can Derby and will need work to key him up for the task There is no work equal to racing so I am going to work him in what will probably be a hard race bring him back and try to have him on edge when the gates open at Washing ¬ ton Park If he wins at St Louis he will have to take up a penalty of five pounds in the Ameri America ¬ can Derby I hope he will earn the penalty At Harlem in the afteinoon afternoon Charley Thorpe was engaged to ride him Thorpe had arrived from Whiting la in the morning and weighed 117 pounds with his clothes on He promised to be able to do 102 Saturday afternoon He will start for St Louis tonight tonightWarrenton tonight Warrenton Warren was worked a mile and a quarter early yesterday at Harlem He had stake weight up and covered the distance in 2 20 It was an excellent performance considering the condi condo ¬ tion ion of the track and the fact that the colt went a long route routeJockey route Jockey Clawson Lawson has gone oast Coast to ride Imp in the Suburban He started on the Lake Shore limited at 530 last night and will arrive in New York this evening at 630 He will start back Saturday night or Sunday morning and be here to ride Monday afternoon afternoonW afternoon W H Timmons Simmons has gone east His horses have been transferred to the stable of John Delong Belong The conditions of the transfer have not been made public Varying reports say the horses were purchased by Delong Belong for from 2000 down to 1000 Timmons Simmons priced the horses last week to J E Gushing at 2000 2000THOS THOS ETHOS J GALLAGHEE GALLAGHER
