SLOAN GOES TO ENGLAND Tod Todd Sloan is to sail for England today on the steamer Kaiser Vilhelmhis alleged personal statement of the whys and wherefores being as follows I am going to England to ride simply be ¬ cause I can do better there than I can here I wished to ride there all this season but con ¬ tracts I had made kept me here I have just succeeded in obtaining my release from the last stable I was under contract with and being free am going to do what I wanted to do early in the spring Business interests as well as a feeling of personal obligation to Lord Wil Wail ¬ liam Beresford Hereford have induced me to keep an agreement I made more than a year ago to return to England and I have not the slightest fear that I will be less successful this fall than I was last season I dont don't know much about the horses in Lord Williams stable but he is a shrewd turfman Truman and I am confident he will have good material for me to work on I have not decided on any particular course to pursue because I dont don't know what conditions I am to meet but my present plans are simply to do what riding 1 can straight through the re mainder minder of the English racing season counting first on the horses Lord Beresford Hereford gives me to ride and those of Mr Keene KeeneI Keene I expect to remain abroad for the winter My plans for next season will shape themselves as things happen but whether I ride in Eng ¬ land or America will depend upon which offers the most advantages advantagesI advantages I am not sore about anything that has hap ¬ pened penned here and there is not a particle of feeling behind my determination to go abroad other than the feeling that I will do better in many ways in England than I can here My health has not been good this season and the changa chang
