backed from 50 down to 12 to 1 for the second race He went to the post sore all over and horsemen said that since his last start he had had 50 pounds taken off Fausalight Flashlight was left at the post but ran the course being away up the homestretch when Judge Steadman Seaman crossed the wire a winner The start was a straggling one Judge Stead man broke the quickest but Amelia Fonso Fonts went to the front and stayed there to the last eighth always being closely hustled by Greyhurst Greyhounds Amanda and Cherryflame Cheryl Here a fierce drive began and Cherrj Cheerer flame swerved as she came to the front then staggered all over the track Judge Steadman Seaman fifth on the last turn came on next the rails and going on won by three open lengths from Celtic Bard who ran a great race through the last threeeighths Amanda was third just ahead of Greyhurst Greyhounds and Amelia Fouso Focus Del Paso II was beaten one hundred yards yardsBarney yardman Barney Schreiber wishing to test the ability of Miss Marion to go a distance Himyars Chimaeras get are not noted for going on started her at one mile and had all his doubts removed and so will enter her for the threeyearold stakes Yet the filly did not win and this because her jockey J Reiff Riff was to weak to hold her head up or possibly was benumbed by the cold To a good start for all but Dunois Dubois a bumping match staggering It was any odds on Miss Marion but she began to stop at the last eighth and was beaten at the last 100 yards by Timemaker Tidemark who went on and won easily by two lengths from Basquil Basque who passed Miss Marion in the final stride Cherry Leaf finished close up fourth Basquil Basque had plenty left and ran another full mile before being stopped I ILucid Lucid Lucid led the pack Branch second for seven eigbtLs eights in the fc urth ruth racn ran Passing the judge the first time Uarda Guardia and David Tenny Teeny were lying side and side close to the leaders and here they ran for over a mile Treachery moved up to Lucid in the homestretch and soon had him beaten At the last threesix threes ¬ teenths tenths Skeets Skeet Martin sent David Tenny Teeny along but he did not catch Treachery until well inside the last sixteenth Dunnes Dunes horse then going on and winning comfortably from Uarda Guardia who beat Treachery one length Uarda Guardia suffered from interference on the upper turn Lucid finished fourth but was moved into tne tine third money by the disqualification of Treach Reach ¬ ery very J Reiff Riff up Branch was up at the betting ring George Lee as usual could not get agoing going and was away back with Mr Baston Bastion up the backstretch backstretchJudge backstretch Judge Rees said that Treachery bore in and choked off Lucid just inside the last sixteenth post J Reiff Riff admitted the foul but said he could not keep Treachery straight straightAlthough straightly Although Ailyar Halyard won the fifth race it was hardly after the fashion of a horse justifiably a 1 to 3 chance Fontainebleu Containable was on his neck in a hot drive the last 150 yards Be True was third four lengths back and six lengths better than Nellie Fonso Fonts who led for nearly onehalf Neal mile The other starters were never in sight sightRedskin sighted Redskin Czarowitz Carbonize and others delayed the start for the closing race which was again somewhat straggling Rideau Idea a newcomer a horse which ran well on the Northern Circuit was off in front and led to the homestretch from Abe Furst Furs the pair outracing Bishop Reed third by several lengths Abe Furst Furs won easily the last eighth and W C T from fourth place on the upper turn got up in time to secure the place from Rideau Idea who finished third Bishop Reed fourth was three lengths better than Newsgathoror who was backed as a good thing Tom Hurnsthought he could win with Milwaukee A cold drizzling rain set in just as the horses went to the post postStarter postmaster Starter Bruen Braun did very well throughout the day all things considered consideredTommy considered Tommy Magee said that Edward Corrigan was much improved and at last accounts was resting easily
