GOOD RACING AT LAKESIDE OL what a drubbing the Lakeside ring got yesterday Five favorites and one second choice won The fields in four of the events were so large that the volume of speculation was somewhat light This alone kept the ring from a complete knockout knockoutThe knockout The afternoon was warm and springlike springier a crowd of nearly three thousand was out and the rack was comparatively fast fastThe father The racing features on the card were a three quarter of a mile handicap for twoyearolds toeholds and a selling race at the odd distance of one mile and threesixteenths threesixteenthsA A well balanced field of seven started in the 2 yearold earl handicap and so evenly were the weights adjusted that at post time there was no decided favorite it being 13 to 5 each Boney Bony Boy and Queen of Song with Sea Lion held at i to 1 and Hanlight Fanlight and Andes 6 to 1 each The race was a cracking good one and resulted in a nose victory for Boney Bony Boy This was the only race of the day that Starter Dwyer who by the wty witty ts in excellent form at present did not JBthe Bathe field away in a compact bunch bunchAndes unhands Andes a quick breaker beat the barrier al miSt a length and with a fine display of speed stepped the first quarter in 21 seconds and the half in 40 On the far turn he seemed to have a winning lead The order at that point was Andes by three lengths Boney Bony Boy second a length and a half in front of Arthur McKnight Mocking Queen of Song was fourth four lengths back Ruimding Ruining into the stretch Seaton Eaton on Boney Bony Boy came close to the rails and made up s much ground that at the eighth post he was head and head with Andes From there home tbe tube pair fought out every inch of the ground Andes faltered once but came again Seaton Eaton ha i little or no hold of Boney Bony Boys head but was whipping and kicking for all he was worth an i with tbe tube pair hugging each other finally finished in front on the extreme inside Queen of Song was third and Sea Lion who ran a very bad race finished at the sixteenth j Boanerges Beaneries was backed from 1 to 2 almost off tbe tube boards for the long distance selling race and he came home by himself Bloss Loss had the mount on the McGuigan Michigan castoff and took no dances The colt was good and had speed to j luan LAN and going to the front Candelas Perhaps filly Hardly screwed up to concert pitch and dropped her into the fifth race along with Surmount Milwaukee and other ordinary selling platers platters The filly was backed from 3 to 1 down to 13 to 5 and well handled by Hothersall Others took her field into camp with little or no trouble On the far turn Hardly was sharply interfered with but she was so much the best that the interference made no difference in the result resultEverybody Everybody seemed to be of the same opinion about the last race and W C T who opened at even money was backed down to 7 to 10 and less The alphabet horse won but it took all he and Caywood Cawed could do to beat Graziella Grazie The later had all of her speed and after lead ing King all the way tired at the very end endIn ending In four of the six races Jockey Tom Burns finished absolutely last He won on Nailer Mailer and was third with Milwaukee but it is safe to say his backers did not lay up anything anythingArthur anything Arthur McKnight Mocking the best of assistant start ¬ ers left last night for Nashville After that meeting he goes to New Orleans for the winter In the paddock at Lakeside Saturday Mrs Jimmie Jimmied the chestnut filly by Goldfinch De ¬ light and Flying Bird by Kantaka Kanaka Fauvette Facetted will be sold at public auction The pair now belong to George Murphy who is to retire from the turf as an owner for this season seasonJockey season Jockey J Morgan who rode all of the past summer for Maicus Marcus Daly Dally through Montana is an addition to the Lakeside riding talent Morgan can ride now at 102 pounds
