NOTES OF THE TURF. Colonel Jack Chinn took in the races at Oakland last Friday. Nowadays Colonel Jack is more of a politician than turfman and is said to have undertaken to help re-elect Senator Stewart of Nevada. So far 001 nominations of mares have been made to the Futurity of 1901 and a few more lists are looked for that will bring the total close to the thousand mark. Harry Shannon broke down so badly in his last race at New Orleans that he had to be destroyed. J
