NOTES OF THE TURF. Of the riding on the coast last week the San Francisco Examiner says: "Among the riders, H. Martin greatly excelled with fifteen wins out of thirty-two races on tho flat. On Monday he piloted four to victory, two on Tuesday, five Wednosday after coming mighty close to getting set down indefinitely on Tuesday by the judges, one Thursday, one Friday and two Saturday. As ho rode in only twenty-four races, his percentage of wins for the week was 62, a record probably unparalleled at any big meeting ever held in the United States, number of mounts considered. N. Turner had Ive wins during tho week. J. Ward throe, W. H. Martin, Thorpo and Sheppard two each, Tanner, McNickle, I. Powell, Ruttrr, J. Woods and Louillior accounting for tho rest. The last named, who put Jennie Raid over the plate after getting away none too well, bids fair to make an excellent rider."
