He is in very good form. Pin? led for six furlongs and then stopped. That is as far as he cares to go at speed, Tom Cromwell, place, 2 to 5 Captive, place, 2 to 5. -jQrjT THIRD RACE 1 Mile. Winner B. h, by Prince of Norfolk Haidee. Start good. Won easily. Apparently Bey del Tierra was the best horse today. He went into the lead at the turn into the stretch and after that had things all his own way. Hardly is in fine form at present and ran a good race. Hugh Penny appeared to sulk and probably disliked the change to a hard track. Myth was speedy for six furlongs but stopped when challenged. Mistral II. was not fit. Octuruck whs in for exercise for a jumping race. Rey del Tierra, place, 1 to 2 Hardly, place. 2 to 1; show, 3 to 5. -jQgrj FOURTH RACE 5-8 Mile. Purse ?400. 4-year-olds and upward. Winner Ch. g, by Hanover Blee sing. Start good. Won quite easily. Montgomery was never better than he now is, and is wonderfully fast on any sort of track. He made the others look common. Mary Black is in good form and ran a good race. Rubicon is gjod also, but he appeared to sulk and would not extend himself. Winner B. g, by Sobrante, dam by Darebin Start good. Won in a hard drive of three. The better going suited Moringa. He is a very fast horse on a dry track and was lucky and well handled. San Yenado was probably the best horse today He was shut off on the backstretch and rounding the far turn and closed a big gap in the stretch He would have won with a bit farthf-r to go. Ailyar showed fine speed but when it came to a drive could not concede the weight to the older horses. Torsida was short and not ready for such a contest. Moringa, place. 6 to 5. He is a fairly speedy selling plater when fit and is decidedly short at present. Billy McCloskey made up a lot of ground in the last three furlongs. He is bsr over a distHDce. Cherrystone is best in Boft going. Felicite looks stale. Scratched Joan, 119; Lord Chesterfield, 121. Two Cheers, plnce. 2 ml; show. 4 to 5. Billy McCloskey. show, 4 to 1,
