DOUBT ABOUT MAT W.S DAM. Maetville, Mo., February 1. I would call your attention to an error in Volume 7, page 356 of the American Stud Book, which reads as follows : Florila Sangaroo, ch. m, foaled in 1883, by Faustus.dam Bonnie Bruce, by Scottish Eclipse II., dam Lady Woodford, by Woodford. Produced in 1893, b. f, "Plumeria," by Imp. lEagle Plume. Produced in 1894, b. f, "May W.," by Imp. Eagle Plume. The above is not correct, as Florila and Sangaroo are two separate and distinct mares, as jou may see by the following produce of Bonnie Bruce, who produced in 1882, b. c, by Iowa Almont trotter. 1883, ch. f, Forila. by Faustus killed in 1884. 1884, birren to Faustus. 1885, The Moonstone, by Faustus gelded. 1886, barren to Faustus. 1887, ch. c, Bobby Beach, by Faustus. Bonnie Bruce died in 1887 and Florila had her leg broken in August, 1884 and was killed in No-member, 1884, as a yearling on the farm of the breeder, Mr S. W. Briggs, of Maryville, Mo. "Sangaroo" was a chostnnt mare by Faustus, whose dam was Little Maud, not a thoroughbred. She was foaled in 1885, owned and bred by A. J. Waltz, of Maryville, Mo., who sold her to D. C. Reynolds, who took her to Manitoba in 1889. The above statement can be verified by referring to the following parties : Mrs. S. W. Briggs, Albert Briggs, John M. Howendobler, E. E. E. McJimpsey, Elmer Frasier, G. S. Baker, M. Nus-baum, A. J. Waltz, B. V. Prather and C. A. Mul-holland, all of Maryville, Mo. This matter is worth investigation. Donald Cameron, who races May W. and Plumeria, is a northwestern countryman and has repeatedly told the editor of Daily Racing Fokji that Froila and Sangaroo wore the same. He owns the old mare, whose name is not Florila, but Froila. Cameron may be in error as to the two mares. The attention of Registrar James E. Wheeler of the American Stud Book has been called to the matter.
