NOTE 8 OF THE TURF. Track work was resumed by horses stabled at Morris Park and the Long Island courses Monday, a circuit by harrows at each track sufficing to make the going safe. The recent spell of bad weather has not harmed the horses, probably owing to their not being far advanced in spring training. Few cases of indisposition are severe enough to claim the attention of veterin-aries, the health average of the stables rnling especially good for this period of the year. Tom Tracey, the pugilist, actirg under the advice of his friend, Al Smith, has invested some of his prize-ring winnings in horseflesh. Mcntallade and The Wooer are now the property of Tracey. Both racers are breadwinners and with a careful man like Smith to handle them should prove good investments. San Francisco Examiner. Several members of F. V. Alexandres stable have been shipped to Bennings to take part in the Washington Jockey Clubs spring meeting at that course. Sanders, Leando and Ben Viking are the principal members of the Washington consignment. The string wintered at old Monmouth and look to be within a fortnight of racing pitch. W. Oliver, who has wintered his string among the pines at Lakewood, N. J., is ready to move into campaigning quarters and will ship to Sheepshead Bay this week. Warrenton is his particular star. The good four-year-old is in fine shape and will receive a special preparation for the Brooklyn Handicap.
