It is the first of Lazzarones get, just been dropped in Kentucky, the dam being Arrow-grass, one of the two La Belle stud mares that were retained by Mr. Leigh when he sold his horses at La Belle. The colt is a great big lnsty fellow, and Leigh is greatly pleased. Constant Reader, Chicago. Elmer S. and Hittick were not coupled in the place and show betting on the Crescent City Derby at the track. It was 6 to 1 againtt Hittick place and 8 to 1 Elmer S. place. The St. Louis Republic says that Matt Byrne3, Kit Chinn, Dick Dwyer, Wm. Bruen and A. B. Dade are applicants for the position of starter at the Fair Grounds this year. Rosebeau has been shipped from San Francisco for St. Lonis. She is booked for retire-- ment from the track and will be mated with Foul Shot.
