NOTES OF THE TURF. Pink Coat, in training at Sheepshead Bay, is doing as well as could be desired, having so far done ail that his trainer, Ed Tiffen, has asked of him. Pink Coat has been but little talked about in connection with the Brooklyn or Suburban, but no horse engaged is more likely to capture one of these great handicaps. The Bromley stable have several very promising two-year-olds, none more so than Indian Belle, which is likely to prove every bit as good as her dam, Yorkville Belle. The three Hanover colts in the sfring can also run fast.— The Horse Fancier. Rose in Hand, bay mare, foaled in 1895 by Royal Hampton— 8t. Cypria, by St. Gatien, the property of Messrs. J. R.and F- P. Keene. died recently at the Castleton Stud, Ky , in giving birth to a chestnut filly by Handspring. The filly also died. E. Peters" chestnut colt Holden, by Sir Dixon —Daphne, a winner at Aqueduct, fell overboard from a ferryboat Tuesday while being shipped from Bay Ridge to Morris Park. He proved a good swimmer and was soon hauled on deck. Tbe Turf Congress License Committee has refused to grant jockey C. Combs a license. Jockey Hothersall has been granted a limited license to ride for his stable only. C. B. Hawkins Betsy Broeck, by Ten Broeck, dropped a full brother to Traverser April 20. He is a chestnut by Rossington.
