Winner— Br. f, by King Eric— Tara Blackburn. Post 5 minutes. Start good for all but Donna Anita. Won cleverly. It was a terrific drive for the place. Mitten was lucky and well handled. She came through on the rail in the stretch like a good race mare. Chnmp was badly interfered with shortly after the start and Gray had to take her up to avoid going flown. The filly, when straightened out again, however, came with a tremendous rush. Laura G. G acted quite green but ran a cracking good race. She was under a hard drive from the three-eighths post to the wire. Blnerina is a quick breaker and opened up a big gap going the first quarter. She weakened badly when the pinch came in the stretch. Wasanta is a good looker and can win soon in such company. Scratched— 120043 Contessa, 107; ni3i Hilda H.,99; 11914 Noelie, 99; 11818 El Jay, 99; 12082 Bertha Lanrence, 99. Winner— Br. f, by Vocalic— Rose. Post 3 minntes. Start good. Won driving and out to the last ounce; second the same. Rosa Clay barely staggered in. At that she was no more tired than Chisel. The latter made a strong bid at the eighth post and at that point looked to be winning, but grew leg weary at the end and bore in, but not enough to cause interference, The time goes to show what a tired lot it was. It took the winner fifteen seconds to run the last furlong. The heavy wind was the cause of this. Bloss was interfered with down the backstretch. So was Bilbro. Cora B. and Loyal Girl both showed speed. They stopped badly in the stretch. Rosa Clay, place, 4 to 5 ; show. 2 to 5. Chisel, place, 8 to 5 ; show, 4 to 5. Bloss, show, evens. Winner— B. f, by Russell— Fresco. OS first break to a good start. Won easily; second, third and fourth were doing their best. Free Hand had a lot in reserve and can beat better ones. She is good now. Goebel bad a rough journey. He was pocketed down the backstretch and met with interference often. Considering this he ran a good race. J. J. T. is an honest colt. He ran right o his mark. Marco Polo was sharply interfered with at the start and had to be pulled up. Native Son showed speed but stopped as if short. He will improve from this race. The weight evidently anchored Mamie Lou. Ella Penzance was troubled the same way. The latter got a flying itart and hardly ran her race. Free Hand was bid up 00 over her entered price but was bought in. F. W. Winner— Ch. g, by Rossington— Belle of Nantura. Post 4 minutes. Start good for all but Dalgretti. Won in a long hard drive of two; third and fourth were also hard at it. Bloss cleaily outrode the other boys. He took the short route and got through a small hole at the head of the stretch. From the eighth post to the wire it was a pretty finish between the first two. Bloss was in close te the rail and was unable to use his whip. With his hands, though, he put up a strong ride and would have won on either horse. Rosavannah had a rough journey. She was interfered with on the first turn, and again on the stretch turn. Eva Wilson suffered from bad handling. She is a free running filly, and Knight in trying to place her choked her to exhaustion. Lobengula ran a fair race. Dalgretti evidently sulked. Leoncie was the victim of a bad ride. Both were tired enough to lie down, and it would be hard to say which was to blame. Pool made up a lot of arround in the last three furlongs.
