Mischievous ran a corking good race after a slow beginuing. Last Cords race was surprising, but Clawson rode a very strong finish. There was some interference through the stretch and it seemed that Mischievous and Last Cord fouled Mr. Jersey and Stuart. No foul was claimed, however. Stoart is still a bit short, but should win soon. Colonel Roosevelt closed a big gap in the stretch, He is not ready. When he gave him his head be passed the others very easily. He seems to ba a colt of good class. Entered for ,500 he was bid up to ,300 but retained by Mr. Hyland. Alpen was done at seven furlongs.
