Qoebel ran a good honest race.. He hung on and fought it out gamely with Boney Boy for the place. The latter had a rough journey and rather a weak ride Eugenia Wickes was short. She had a lot of speed but quit id tbe stretch. Ibis race should do her good. Mark Benneville for lower company. Nora C had no speed. He is a good horse aud far outclassed his nnonents As a rule he does not run in front, but Beanchamp skilfully placed him there all the w«y. Banquo 11 ran his race. So did Prince Blazes. She was fortunate in getting throngh on the first turn and always- had clear sailing On the turn for home the filly faltered a trifle but finished strongly and with something left. Gold Fox ran a fine rac. He met with considerable bad luck. Watch this colt. Serrano weakened when tbe pinch came. At one time in the stretch he seemed to be winning Galathee was miserably ridden. Knhn bad him in a picket all down the back stretch. Throw this race out for Galathee. Harry Nutter was right ther . He is a consistent performer. Great Bend had speed but could not last. Barrack ran a cracking good race, and with an equal break would have given the winner a stout argument. She had a flying start and no excuses. Hoods Brigade got somewhat the worst of the break. Lord Weir also taDgled up at the start. Watch him ; he has worked ver, fast.
