IMPS SUBURBAN. There will bo fireworks and jubilation galore in Chillicotbe, Ohio, tonight. For Imp, the bonnie black daughter of Wagner and Fond- ling, lives at that quiet old Buskpye town and is greater in the estimation of the inhabitants I thereof than any horse that has ever existed, from Bncephelas down to Hanover the might;. For has not Imp upset all traditions by doing ■what the splendid mares Firenzi and Gorjio ■strove in vain to do; won a Suburban Handicap and not only done that but also broke the time record of the race to boot. It is enough to make any Chillicothian exult and resolve to welcome Imp with brass bands and adulation that will 1 I cause her to marvel greatly when she comes home. The result of yesterdays Suburban was a double western triumph and the vain glorious east is much abashed. First and second places to the west and third to the east. It is well. This is the record of the race from its institution. I 1 I The race was run in 1 :40 fiat and established a Dew track record. Banquo II. was the betting choice in the long distance race and after a hard drive through the stretch with Lobengula he "delivered the goods" in grand style, Benamela went away in front and was the pacemaker all the way. JThe race was a procession thefirstmilebut after that the boys tetan to get busy and on the turn for home the field of five were bunched and almost en even terms. At this point all were driving and it was anybodys race. At the paddock Muskalonge gave it up, bnt the other four hung together. Bethlehem Star cracked at the eighth post and about the same time Benamela retired. This left the race between Banquo II. and Lobengula and the pair fought hard for every inch of ground. Clay, with BaDquo II , was on the outside and had the better of Hamilton, who could not use his whip. Th« pair were rose and nose to the jockey board, but in the last few strides Banquo II drew away and at the wire was a half length in front. "y7 w inner. Jockey. Wgt. Second. Wgt. I Third.
