The old horse kided the others off in the first five furlongs and was not racing at the end. Ho and Rutter seem to ba unbeatable. Hugh Penny ran a fine race He was slow to get going, but was fortunate in not getting shut off down the bic stretch, tie catno through with a rush in the natural spread at the head of the stretch. Start good for all but Piccoli. Won hand ridden but out to the limit; the next five ware all in a haap and dcivmg hard. Knight took a dospsrate chance on tbo first turn with Free Hand. Ha was determiued to get to the f cont and in his offort pinched News, gatherer off, almost throwing him over the fence. Gray was obliged to pull Nowsgathorer up 1! Free Hands win was most lucky. Had Newseatherer got through in the stretch he would surely have b?aten her. Egbert had no excu?e3. Piccola ran a better race than the winner. Ursina got her off poorly and did everything hut fall off Watch her with a competent rider. Morcni wss interfered with several times, bat the interference was not sharp and had little or no effect on the result. The horsa seems to b8 going back. Molo ran a dull race. Ho can do batter.
