NOTES OF THE TURF. Superintendent Lyman Davis, of the New-port track, has a force of hands harvesting the crop of oats in the center field of the track. The crop will be large onough to keep the horses belonging to the association in feed for the winter. There are about sixty-five horses quartered at Newport at present and most of these will remain for the fall meetings at Newport and Latonia. The Brighton Beach Racing Association has announced nine stakes, aggregating in value 6,000, to close August 15, and to ba run for in July and August, 1900, 1901 and 1902. Up to Jnly 10 Orme heads the list of winning : Btallions in England, with 22,630 13,150, and 1 Mr. P. Lorillards Sensation is Becond with 7,-I 494 7,470 to his credit.
