The first five were all in a heap at the finish. Bettie R. seemed to have a winning chance on the stretch turn but weakened under pressure. Drainburg was a false alarm. He never was dangerous. She came from behind gamely in the stretch under punishment. Montgomery had speed galore and made a good showing. Under punishment in the stretch be swerved badly, bat caused no damage. Georgie was rscsd-into subroisficn by Montgomery in the first half. Fair Deceiver finished strong. So did Eitholin. J. H. C. was practically loft at the post. Scratched 14433 Maggie Davis, 96. It was a long, hard drive for second place, Little.Singer had an abundance of speed and made a runaway race of it. She was never tully extended and clearly overraced herself. Periwig outgumed Jackanapes for the place. Both ranto their notches. From the time standpoint it was r good race. Jessie S. was right there. Croesus was badly beaten. This was not his race.
